We posted about the AV instal at the Serenity project back in May of last year, fast forward a few months and the AV is now all up and running, all the audio visual components are remote located in one central hub in the living room in a closet we affectionately call ‘the Tardis’ (Dr Who fans will understand the reference).

At the time our techs from RSAVD were less than impressed when I showed them the small locker that they had to work with, but somehow they managed to get 10 lbs of sugar into a 5 lb bag. The custom rack pulls out on a track for service and houses several amplifiers, Crestron controllers, Kaleidescape Media Server, Lutron lighting, Satellite TV receivers… you name it, it’s in there. The space is cooled by a dedicated AC unit, once the door is closed the locker disappears and all that technology hums away in the background.

We pushed the envelope for a remote island instal on this job, the house boasts a home theatre, motorized blinds throughout, two TV art lifts, a killer sound system and underwater speakers. Our architects told us ‘all this technology wasn’t advisable‘, that we ‘must be mad‘… but that’s never stopped us before!
